About
Jannotti Rail Consulting
Jannotti Rail Consulting, Inc. was formed in 2000 by Paul and Debra Jannotti. Paul utilized his previous 27 years of formal and “ground-up” railroad and transit experience to provide railroad track consulting services focused in the northeast USA, but also extending to the countries of Panama and Peru.
In August 2011, his son, Sam, joined the business and grew his role from editing contract documents to providing full project design, drafting, and management. January 2023 saw Paul hand the reins of the business to Sam, who now maintains and further extends JRC’s reputation as a local favorite for practical track design, inspections, and project planning. Paul continues to aid with inspections, cost estimates, and design through a more limited role as he enjoys “partial retirement”.
Jannotti Rail continues to serve its current and new clients with rail freight design and rehabilitation projects throughout eastern North America.

Our Work
“Every Railroad Tells its Own Story.”
Jannotti Rail’s design work provides the perfect marriage of technical knowledge with practical representation and depiction through specifications, contract packages, drawings, and details. We have navigated enough of the railroad industry to quickly identify what is feasible for owners, where the divide between maintenance and rehabilitation lies, and effectively assemble projects that are attractive for owners, grants, contractors, and industrial growth.
Services
Railroad Engineering

Maintenance and Rehabilitation Planning
Develop short and long-term maintenance and rehabilitation plans for regional and shortline railroads, industrial tracks, and construction contractors to maintain adjacent trackage during long-term construction projects.
Grantsmanship
Assist Owners in applications to secure State and/or Federal Funds for track rehabilitation or new construction.

This includes having control of a track project from start to finish: feasibility, design, contract document production, bidding, award, and further continuing through construction oversight with construction administration, observation, and final inspections.
